Gas Liquids Engineering Ltd. (GLE) provided mechanical, civil design, structural design and construction support to expand an existing oil battery and tank farm in Central Alberta. The expansion increased the oil production to 27,000 bbl/d. Project scope included:
- Design and construction of facilities to process 10,000 bbl/d of oil, 10,000 bbl/d of produced water, and 1% sand. The expansion is essentially a twin of the existing facility with improvements in the original design to increase efficiency and throughput
- Provisions to load oil onto trucks to enable shipment by road should the pipeline be shut in
- Two (2) existing VRU’s were retrofitted to improve efficiency
The scope of EPCM project services included: AFE development and approval, regulatory permitting, DBM preparation, equipment specifications, detailed design, procurement, preparation of construction bid packages, construction contract awards, shop and field inspection, commissioning and start-up.
